Malibu : Equestrian Park Proposal

Los Angeles County and the Santa-Monica Malibu Unified School District have a final hurdle to clear before they reach an agreement on a master plan for the proposed Malibu Equestrian Park.
The school board Monday voted unanimously to notify the county of 12 revisions it wants in the plan, such as a more complete description of the drainage system, a clarification of the intended use of a multipurpose field and the addition of a provision for boundary fencing.
For the last six years, the county has wanted to build a 10-acre equestrian park on school district property about two miles north of Point Dume. County landscape architect Larry Hensley said he does not expect the county to have any problems addressing the board’s concerns.
County officials and district lawyers will meet within two weeks to go over the requested amendments, he said.
