THE SIDELINES : Agents Plead Guilty to Fraud Counts
Four sports agents accused of making secret payments to six former University of Florida athletes pleaded guilty to reduced charges of conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, a newspaper reported.
The plea agreement includes a stipulation that Hollywood, Fla., sports agents Gerald Gratenstein, Greg Latimer, John Kasbar and Glenn Haft will never represent athletes again. They are subject to a maximum prison sentence of five years and a $250,000 fine, the Gainesville Sun reported in today’s editions. The plea also prevents the high-profile trial that Florida officials had feared.
