GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Four sports agents accused of making secret payments to six former University of Florida athletes pleaded guilty to reduced charges of conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, a newspaper reported.
The plea agreement includes a stipulation that Hollywood, Fla., sports agents Gerald Gratenstein, Greg Latimer, John Kasbar and Glenn Haft will never represent athletes again. They are subject to a maximum prison sentence of five years and a $250,000 fine, the Gainesville Sun reported in today’s editions. The plea also prevents the high-profile trial that Florida officials had feared.
