Local : 1-Car Accident Kills 2 in Palmdale

A man and woman were killed early this morning when their car veered off a Palmdale street and crashed into a power pole, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported.

The accident occurred shortly before 1 a.m. on 10th Street West near the Antelope Valley Freeway, Deputy David Davidson said. The car was northbound just north of the freeway when, for an unknown reason, it crossed the center divider, went off the road and smashed into a power pole on the opposite side of the street, Davidson said.

The female victim, a Palmdale resident in her early 40s, was driving the car, Davidson said. Her name was withheld until relatives could be notified. Her passenger carried no identification but was about the same age as the driver, Davidson said.
