SOUTHLAND : Migraine Keeps Canseco Out of Lineup for 2nd AL Playoff Game

OAKLAND — Jose Canseco was a last-minute scratch from Oakland’s starting lineup in Game 2 of the American League playoffs today because of a migraine headache.
Stan Javier replaced him in right field, with designated hitter Dave Parker moving to Canseco’s No. 3 spot in the batting order.
In the opener Tuesday night, Canseco went 0-for-4 with a walk, striking out in his last three at-bats. He said afterward that he felt poorly all day and thought he might be coming down with a virus.
“I personally had a terrible day,” he said. “It was one of the worst games, period, of my life.”
Canseco has gone for 0-for-21 in postseason play since his grand slam homer off the Los Angeles Dodgers’ Tim Belcher in the opening game of the 1988 World Series. He hit seven home runs in September.
