Car Hits Power Pole in Palmdale; 2 Killed

Aman and woman were killed Wednesday morning when their car veered off a Palmdale street and crashed into a power pole, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported.

The accident occurred shortly before 1 a.m. on 10th Street West near the Antelope Valley Freeway, Deputy David Davidson said. The car was northbound just north of the freeway when it crossed the center divider, went off the road and smashed into a power pole on the opposite side of the street, Davidson said.

The woman, a Palmdale resident in her early 40s, was driving, Davidson said. Her name was withheld until relatives could be notified.

Her passenger carried no identification but was about the same age as the driver, Davidson said.
