Moorpark Wrestlers Tie Golden West

Moorpark College’s Serge Mezheritsky pinned Don Merlino in 4 minutes, 11 seconds Wednesday as Moorpark and Golden West battled to a 22-22 tie in a nonconference match at Golden West.

Four other wrestlers recorded victories for Moorpark (1-0-1). Tony Flores defeated Russell Corbin, 9-2, in the 177-pound class; Robby Cook defeated Dennis Beazy, 19-3, in the 134-pound class; Bill Scannell defeated Eric Legarreta, 13-11, in the 126-pound class and Delfino Ochoa defeated Pat Fato, 22-6, in the 118-pound class.

Golden West (0-3-2) won the 142-pound class by forfeit.
