A Thousand Oaks man was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter in connection with a hit-and-run accident in Glendale on Friday that left a pedestrian dead, authorities said.

Charles N. Hall, 60, was arrested by Glendale police after his 1974 Chevrolet pickup truck struck Felorik Avanosian, 41, who was crossing Glendale Avenue at Elk Street about 6:20 a.m., police said. Avanosian, a Glendale resident, was taken to Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, where she was pronounced dead at 7:40 a.m.

Avanosian was walking west in a crosswalk when she was struck by a truck traveling south, police said. Witnesses said the driver got out of the truck after the accident and attempted to pick up Avanosian. But the man got back in the truck a few minutes later and drove away, according to police.
