A new president has been named to head Woodbury University in Burbank.

Paul Sago, now president of Azusa Pacific University, will take over as president of the 105-year-old college beginning in January, interim president Jacqueline Powers Dodd said Friday. Dodd will return to her position as vice president of academic affairs and dean of faculty, she said.

Sago, 58, holds advanced degrees in education from Walden University in Florida and St. Francis Graduate School in Indiana, Dodd said. Before his job at Azusa Pacific, Sago was vice president of financial affairs at Anderson College in Indiana, she said.

Woodbury University moved to Burbank from Los Angeles in 1987. About 1,000 students attend the university, which offers courses in business, computers, architecture and graphic design.
