The Dallas Cowboys apparently won’t be trading Herschel Walker unless Walker wants to be traded.

The star running back does not have a no-trade clause in his five-year, $5-million contract signed in 1986. But he is wealthy enough to be set for life because of his contracts with Donald Trump’s New Jersey Generals in the now-defunct USFL. So, the Minnesota Vikings and the Cleveland Browns, reported to have been dealing with the Cowboys for the running back this week, need Walker’s approval.

“I love playing football,” Walker said recently. “But it’s not my life and I don’t have to play football. I just do it right now because I enjoy it. When the day comes I don’t, I’ll walk away from it. I have other interests.”

Walker recently has attended FBI school, has performed in a ballet, has a newspaper column and has regularly appeared in radio and TV commercials.
