MANY CLOSURES TO MARK COLUMBUS DAY MONDAY

Monday is Columbus Day, commemorating the day Christopher Columbus discovered America in 1492. All state and federal offices and courthouses will be closed in observance of the holiday.
In observance of the holiday:
BANKS: Banks and savings and loan institutions will be closed.
MAIL: Post offices will be closed and mail deposited in mailboxes will be picked up according to the posted holiday schedule.
COUNTY: The County Clerk’s office will be closed. All other county offices will be open and operating.
CITIES: All 28 city halls will remain open, and regularly scheduled council meetings will be held.
SCHOOLS: All schools, including colleges and universities, will remain open. City and county libraries will be open.
TRASH: There will be regular trash pickup by city and county refuse workers.
TRANSPORTATION: Orange County Transit District buses will run on their regular schedules.
PARKING: Metered parking will be enforced throughout the county.
City- and county-operated park and recreation facilities will be open regular hours.
