Parks of San Clemente Wins in Wheelchair Tennis
Brad Parks of San Clemente defeated Bob Dockerill of Great Britain, 6-0, 6-1, Saturday in the World International Team Cup division of the U.S. Open Championship of wheelchair tennis at the Racquet Club of Irvine.
The match helped the United States defeat Great Britain, 3-0. The U.S. women’s team defeated Australia, 3-0.
Randy Snow of Birmingham, Ala., defeated Chris Illingsworth 6-2, 6-1, in another men’s singles match, and the doubles team of Rick Slaughter of Nashville, Tenn., and Chip Parmelly of Diamond Bar defeated Simon Hatt and Jiyant Mistry , 6-1, 6-3.
In women’s singles, Terry Lewis of Modesto defeated Danni DiToro, 6-0, 6-3, and Nancy Olson of Stony Point, N.Y., defeated Randa Hinson 6-2, 6-0. In doubles, Becky White-Chun of Fresno and Mary Jones of Fountain Valley defeated DiToro and Hinson, 6-1, 6-1.
