Settlement Reported in Lawsuit Over Alleged Sexual Harassment at School

The Simi Valley Unified School District has negotiated a tentative settlement of a federal sexual harassment lawsuit filed by a guidance counselor, lawyers in the case said Monday.
The suit alleged that a high school principal in the Ventura County city had sexually harassed the counselor for two years until the woman transferred to a lower-paying job at a different school.
Attorneys refused to disclose the amount of the settlement, but Sara Kopman-Davis, the counselor, described the sum as “real substantial, especially for a school district. I’m satisfied, but money isn’t what I wanted.”
She said she wanted Apollo High School Principal Brad Greene reprimanded. “As far as I know, he has never been reprimanded,” she said.
Greene declined to comment on the settlement. His attorney, J. Jane Fox of Ventura, said Greene denied all the allegations and that any settlement should not be considered an admission of guilt.
Kopman-Davis’ suit alleged that Greene made sexually explicit remarks to her, touched and grabbed her and gave her a poor evaluation after she repeatedly rejected his advances.
