“Transportation in Orange County’s Future” will be the topic of a panel discussion headed by slow-growth activist Norm Grossman and a state transportation official at noon Thursday at the Airporter Inn Hotel in Irvine.
In addition to Grossman, a leader in the campaign on behalf of last year’s unsuccessful slow-growth ballot initiative, Orange County Caltrans Director Keith McKean will speak.
Grossman, who is first vice president of the Orange County Foundation for Consensus on Transportation, will talk about individual actions and their impact on transportation while McKean will discuss five laws adopted by the current Legislature dealing with traffic relief.
They also will comment on the countywide half-cent sales tax measure on the November ballot that is estimated to raise $3.1 billion for highway and transportation projects over the next 20 years.
Prepaid, advance reservations are required for the event at 18700 MacArthur Blvd. The discussion is being sponsored by the Orange County Forum of Town Hall of California.
Prices for the lunch meeting are $18 for Town Hall members and $25 for guests. Reservations can be made by calling (714) 759-6618 or (213) 628-8141.
