Nation : 5.1 Quake Strikes Alaska

A moderate earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 struck southeast Alaska early today but caused no injury or damage, Alaska Tsunami Center, a division of the National Weather Service, said.

The quake was felt on the island of Sitka and in Juneau, the state capital, said John Minsch, a spokesman for Earthquake Information Center in Golden, Colo. The epicenter of the quake was about 120 miles southwest of Juneau under the Pacific ocean floor. No tidal wave activity was reported, the Tsunami Center said.
