Airport Concessionaire to Offer Minority Plan

A major Los Angeles area airport concessionaire whose controversial contracts are under scrutiny by city auditors said Wednesday it is taking steps to increase the participation of women and minority partners.

Host International, which operates cafeterias and some gift shops at city-run airports, told the Airport Commission that minority partners soon will take over operations of a snack bar and gift shop in the new Delta Airlines terminal at Ontario International Airport. The firm also agreed to present a plan to the commission before February to increase the hands-on business responsibilities of its women and minority partners at Los Angeles International Airport.
