A man believed to be connected with a shooting death Sunday in San Diego was picked up Thursday by police after a brief chase on foot, a police spokesman said.

John Harrison, 36, was chased by officers from a home in the 3200 block of K Street, where state parole officers, San Diego homicide detectives and other officers found him at about 1:30 p.m. Thursday. Officers fired shots at Harrison, who was believed to be armed, before he surrendered, spokesman David Cohen said.

Harrison was being sought in connection with the killing of Michael Harrison, 29, and booked into County Jail on suspicion of murder and parole violation, Sgt. John Flynn said Friday.
