Calabasas 19, Nordhoff 16--Junior running back Damon Riggins scored two touchdowns and rushed for 237 yards to lead Calabasas (1-5, 1-0) past visiting Nordhoff (1-5, 0-1).

Calabasas took the opening kickoff and went 69 yards in 10 plays as Riggins capped the drive with a touchdown run from three yards.

Calabasas, which built a 19-0 lead at halftime to the delight of the homecoming crowd, held off Nordhoff’s second-half comeback attempt led by quarterback Rob Fournier, who ran four yards for one touchdown and threw five yards to Bryan Salas for another.

The Calabasas defense, which had stopped two scoring drives in its own territory in the first half, stopped Nordhoff at the one-yard line late in the fourth quarter to preserve the win.
