32 Arrested in Sweep of Pacoima-Area Bars
Thirty-two people were arrested during an investigation of license violations and illegal activities at 24 Pacoima-area bars, police say.
Among those arrested Friday night during the 6 1/2-hour offensive were women hired by bar owners to boost alcohol sales and security guards armed with concealed guns and illegal billy clubs, police said.
Los Angeles Police Sgt. Ralph Krusey said the undercover investigation was carried out by Foothill Division vice officers and officers from the state Alcoholic Beverage Control Department and the state Department of Consumer Affairs.
