LOCAL : D.A. Wants Zsa Zsa to Do Time
Dist. Atty. Ira Reiner said today he is recommending that actress Zsa Zsa Gabor be sentenced to 30 days in jail for slapping a Beverly Hills motorcycle cop.
Gabor was convicted Sept. 29 by a Municipal Court jury in Beverly Hills. She was scheduled to be sentenced Tuesday, although her lawyers said they will be in court late today asking for a postponement.
Reiner said he was “strongly urging” that Gabor be sentenced to 30 days at the county’s Sybil Brand Institute for Women, fined a maximum $3,500 and ordered to reimburse the Beverly Hills Police Department $14,804.50 to cover the cost of its investigation.
“She has made it clear in her openly contemptuous behavior that she is above the law,” Reiner said. “Well, she’s not above the law.”
