Snow Again Wins Wheelchair Title
Randy Snow of Birmingham, Ala., won his seventh men’s open singles title of the year at the 10th U.S. Open Wheelchair Tennis Championships Sunday at the Racquet Club of Irvine.
Snow defeated fourth-seeded Rick Slaughter of Nashville, 3-6, 6-1, 6-2, to end the season undefeated.
Snow also won the open titles in 1981 through 1984, 1986 and last year.
After the singles loss, Slaughter and Brad Parks of San Clemente won the doubles title, defeating Jim Black of Lakewood and Dan Lachman of Corona del Mar, 6-4, 6-2.
