OCTD Workers Get 12% Salary Increase : Countywide

Mechanics and service workers will receive a 12% wage boost over three years under a new contract between the Orange County Transit District and Teamsters Union Local 952, OCTD officials said Monday.
The contract will affect 206 bus mechanics and service workers retroactively from Oct. 1 of this year to Sept. 30, 1992, OCTD spokeswoman Joanne Curran said.
The Teamsters recently won an election to represent more than 700 OCTD bus drivers, but the United Transportation Union, which currently represents the drivers, has appealed the election results. Curran said the UTU’s contract expires in April, 1990.
The new contract with the Teamsters for mechanics also provides for $100 to $500 pay bonuses for employees who meet attendance and productivity goals, Curran said.
Salary ranges for bus mechanics and service workers were not available.
