L.A. Festival Director Peter Sellars said Monday that he would not release a program for the September, 1990, festival before February. But Sellars did confirm that Cambodia, Colombia, Korea, Japan, Australia and Canada would be represented in the Pacific-oriented festival. “This 3-month period coming up now is the real intense period of curation,” Sellars said, adding that groups from Alaska, San Francisco, Central America and the “Western edge of Latin America” would also be invited. Sellars, who spoke at the Long Beach Convention Center before about 70 members of the city’s Public Corporation for the Arts, also noted that the festival would feature a heavy emphasis on dance as well as on “multimedia forms of presentation . . . hybrid art forms that stress dance, music and drama as a cohesive unit.”
