COSTA MESA : Police Say Shooting Suspect Misidentified

Share

Police said Tuesday that they got the wrong name for a 20-year-old Costa Mesa man who was arrested Monday in the shooting death of a transient woman.

The suspect’s correct name is Alonzo Marquez. He was arrested when police cornered him in a garage a few houses away from the shooting scene at the Orange Coast Interfaith Shelter on Wallace Avenue. Marquez was not living at the shelter.

Detectives said they were still trying to learn the motive for the shooting of the woman, Regina Lillian Bisignano, 45, whose last known residence was in Costa Mesa. Marquez may have argued with Bisignano before the shooting, but officers said they don’t know what the argument was about.
