Libertarian Bob Poole, who began by advocating deregulation, should take a look at the consequences of that policy before trumpeting more such ventures. The deregulation of the airlines has resulted in eight companies carrying 95% of airline passengers. And those passengers are jammed in like cattle and jerked around by late departures and arbitrary switching of flights and destinations. That’s only the beginning of what deregulation has wrought.
