An Anaheim liquor store owner was severely beaten Sunday night by a man trying to rob the store, police said.
The victim, whose name was withheld until relatives could be notified, was rushed to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he was in critical condition with unspecified injuries.
Police Sgt. Fred Roush said the robber entered the liquor store in the 2600 block of West Lincoln Avenue at 8:26 p.m. and demanded cash. The men struggled, and the robber eventually fled.
Police said the attacker was described as white, 18 to 19 years old, 5 feet, 6 inches tall and 190 pounds, with shoulder-length, brownish-blond hair, blue jeans and a white T-shirt.
