Greg Oravetz of the Coors Light bicycle team won a photo-finish sprint in the final stage of the Tour of Palm Springs Sunday, and Jay Vonderhe of Team Montgomery was the overall winner of the three-stage race.
Oravetz, 22, of Boulder, Colo., led a 15-rider break that pulled away from the main pack with 20 laps left in the 66-lap, 40-mile criterium in downtown Palm Springs.
Oravetz then held on to edge Mike Costello of Ft. Collins, Colo., by two inches. They finished in 1 hour 25 minutes 39 seconds.
Oravetz finished third in the tour, behind Vonderhe and Scott Moninger of Boulder.
Katrin Tobin of Ketchum, Ida., won the women’s criterium.
