THE SIDELINES : Jeff Alexander to Miss 2-3 Weeks
Broncos fullback Jeff Alexander will miss a minimum of two to three weeks after suffering a severely sprained ankle in Sunday’s game at Seattle. “He’s lucky he didn’t dislocate it,” Denver Coach Dan Reeves said of the injury.
Reeves declined to speculate on what changes would be made in the starting lineup to compensate for Alexander’s absence.
The Broncos may be looking for some offensive line help this week. “We’re banged up,” Reeves said. “We’ve got some key people in key positions hurt. Our offensive line is in a tough situation.”
Center Keith Kartz is questionable for next week’s game against Philadelphia because of an ankle sprain. Left guard Keith Bishop, also the backup center, is still hurting from a back strain sustained while lifting weights last week.
