Sweden, South Korea and Belgium clinched the ninth, 10th and 11th spots in the 24-nation finals of the 1990 World Cup soccer tournament.
Sweden defeated Poland, 2-0, at Chorzow, Poland, South Korea beat Saudi Arabia, 2-0, at Singapore, and Belgium played to a 1-1 tie with Luxembourg at Brussels. Czechoslovakia beat Switzerland, 3-0, at Prague to strengthen its chances of going to the finals.
