Woman Dies of Burns After Car Hits Pole
A 35-year-old woman burned in a single-car accident in Sun Valley died Tuesday morning of her injuries, Los Angeles police reported.
The woman, whose name was not released until her family could be notified, was driving west on Glenoaks Boulevard near Randall Street at 10:30 p.m. Monday when her car swerved off the road and struck a utility pole, Officer Ed Burns said.
The car burst into flames and the woman suffered third-degree burns over most of her body. She was taken to Pacifica Hospital of the Valley where she died about two hours later, officials said. The accident is under investigation, Burns said.
