33 Killed in Day of Sri Lanka Violence

COLOMBO, Sri Lanka —
A day of bloodshed connected to the leftist Sinhalese insurrection left 33 people dead, including four security personnel killed by a landmine detonated by the militants, officials said Tuesday.
More than 5,000 people have died this year in violence spawned by the People’s Liberation Front.
