HOT PROPERTY: The sale of three Irvine new-car dealerships (D5) leaves little doubt that Orange County is the status address for the auto sales industry. . . . The typical Orange County dealership sells for 17% to 20% more than anywhere else in the nation, said one industry source, and if land is included in the sale, the price can skyrocket. Even so, Orange County has more car dealers per capita than anywhere else in California . . . a new or used-car dealership for every 624 households.
