COSTA MESA : Man Arrested After Alleged Threats

A man who had been arrested in a prostitution raid along Harbor Boulevard was later rearrested when he returned to the scene and allegedly threatened to kill undercover police officers, Costa Mesa police said Friday.

William Schmidt, 40, of Orange was first arrested on suspicion of soliciting. He later was arrested on suspicion of making felonious threats against a police officer, Sgt. Tom Curtis said.

During the undercover operation, four women were arrested on suspicion of being prostitutes and 16 men were arrested for allegedly trying to obtain the services of prostitutes on Harbor Boulevard between Adams Avenue and MacArthur Boulevard, Curtis said.
