LOCAL : Cyclist Killed in La Habra Crash
La Habra police today were investigating an accident in which a motorcyclist was killed and his passenger severely injured when they collided with a car.
Christian Lane Clarida, 18, died at 7:41 p.m. Tuesday, about an hour after the accident at La Habra Boulevard and Palm Street. Both he and his passenger were taken by helicopter to UCI Medical Center. Hospital officials said the passenger, Darrin Royer, 17, of Brea, was in fair condition.
The accident occurred as Clarida and Royer, neither of whom wore a helmet, were riding along La Habra Boulevard. They struck a car driven by Maria Jessica Jimenez, 21, of La Habra as she made a left turn, said La Habra police Capt. John Rees. Jimenez was taken to a hospital for treatment of cuts.
