California IN BRIEF : MENDOCINO COUNTY : Limit on Timber Cutting Proposed

Citing a 1973 law, environmental, union and county leaders called on the state Board of Forestry to limit the cutting and export of timber from California to sustain production in the state. Representatives of the Sierra Club, International Woodworkers of America and Mendocino County Supervisor Norman de Vall joined in urging the board to require private interests to limit cutting to the amount of timber grown each year.
