Schroeder Likely Raiders Quarterback Against Chargers

Jay Schroeder will probably start at quarterback for the Raiders Sunday night against the San Diego Chargers, Coach Art Shell said.

Schroeder again took the majority of the snaps at practice Thursday. Shell said Steve Beuerlein remains questionable with a partially torn ligament in his right knee. Beuerlein, promoted ahead of Schroeder two weeks ago, was injured Oct. 29 against the Washington Redskins. He has seen limited duty in practice.

Beuerlein said his situation is day-to-day and added, “If I can’t make it this week, then I’m looking forward to next week.”
