Reviewing Perils of a ‘Me-First’ Upbringing
Barbara Bronson Gray’s story on self-involved parents and children truly hit the mark. As a family law specialist and mediator of divorcing couples, I witness firsthand how the anxious intensity and self-righteousness of being “first” often gets acted out between parents in destructive custody court battles.
I often wonder whether such parental behavior may be a cause for the divorce itself.
It is sad to see such parents who truly love their children cause pain and emotional damage to their children and to themselves.
