GARDEN GROVE : School District Seeks Classroom Aides

Share

The Garden Grove Unified School District is looking for people to assist teachers as part-time classroom aides.

While the district always has openings for regular instructional aides, its greatest needs are for aides to assist handicapped students and bilingual aides who are fluent in English and Spanish, or English and Vietnamese.

Instructional aides perform a variety of duties, such as tutoring students, maintaining records, performing clerical tasks and helping in the development and evaluation of lesson plants. Aides work from 3 to 3 1/2 hours a day, five days a week.

Bilingual aide applicants must pass a language proficiency test, and all aides will attend the district’s instructional aide training program.

Aides for handicapped students start at $8.52 an hour, while bilingual aides begin at $8.11 per hour. All aides receive annual salary increases, sick leave, vacation pay and paid school holidays.

Additional information and applications can be obtained in the lobby of the district Education Center at 10331 Stanford Ave., weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
