GARDEN GROVE — Bill Craven, Pacifica High School football coach, said he will coach the school’s varsity baseball team next season.
“I agreed to coach the baseball team for one season,” he said.
Craven replaced Art Michalik as Pacifica’s football coach in 1976 and has since won eight league titles. He replaces Kent Bothwell as the school’s baseball coach. Bothwell resigned to become football coach at Palmdale.
Craven coached baseball at La Quinta from 1971-73, winning one league title and twice finishing second. His teams qualified for the Southern Section playoffs all three seasons.
