CYPRESS : $5,000 Appropriated for Disaster Supplies
- Share via
Spurred by the Bay Area earthquake last month, the City Council appropriated $5,000 this week to buy emergency disaster supplies for all full-time employees.
In the case of a disaster, all city employees will be called upon to help maintain or rebuild city services and help citizens recover, according to Police Chief Daryl Wicker.
All employees are required either by city code or individual department policies to stay at work. In order for them to remain at work, basic equipment, food and water will be needed.
The emergency supplies will be placed in locations throughout the city, including City Hall, the Police Department and the Community Center.
