Six men accused of operating a large-scale crack cocaine ring in Gainesville, Fla., which had made past sales to University of Florida athletes, were found guilty of conspiracy charges.
The jury deliberated five hours before finding the six guilty of conspiracy to distribute cocaine.
According to testimony, at least two of the defendants--Eric Eugene Scott and Kelvin McCray--sold cocaine to former Florida basketball star Vernon Maxwell, now with the San Antonio Spurs.
U.S. District Judge Maurice Paul ordered the defendants held without bond until sentencing scheduled for Jan. 22.
