Sea Gulls Found Dead in Store Lot
A dozen sea gulls were found dead or injured in the parking lot of a discount store Thursday, authorities said.
A Fountain Valley police officer discovered the birds while on patrol shortly after noon in the Price Club parking lot in 17900 block of Newhope Street, a department spokeswoman said.
Ten birds were found dead and two others injured, she said.
While most of the dead birds showed no evidence of trauma, blood was discovered on a few of them. The injured birds were being treated by Orange County animal control officials, police said.
