Drug charges have been dismissed against former NFL running back Woody Green in Portland, Ore., because the state’s chief witness refused to testify.
Green, 38, was charged with manufacturing and distributing cocaine after his arrest in April during a raid of what police said was a crack house at Green’s north Portland residence.
Judge Ellen Rosenblum dismissed the charges Friday after a juvenile, who was prosecuted as part of the same investigation, refused to testify because his case is on appeal from juvenile court to the Oregon Court of Appeals.
Rosenblum said the state is not barred from later reissuing the charges against Green.
