What’s Turning 50 Got to Do With It?--Always one to flaunt convention, Tina Turner held her lavish 50th birthday bash Sunday at the posh conservative Reform Club in London. The club, until recently a men-only institution, hosted Turner--bedecked in a $39,000 Christian Dior gown--and 250 guests including Eric Clapton, Jerry Hall, Mark Knopfler, and members of Duran Duran. Video wishes were sent from Dave Stewart and Annie Lenox of the Eurythmics, David Bowie, the Rolling Stones (singing “Happy Birthday”) and Gregory Peck--a personal hero of Turner’s.
