Share

The City Council is expected tonight to approve the design of a city-owned parking garage in the 100 block of south Orange Street.

The multilevel garage would increase to about 300 the number of parking slots provided free by the city in the area behind the Army-Navy Surplus Store fronting Glassell Street, according to Jack McGee, director of community development and a member of Old Towne Parking Committee that is heading the project.

The council is also expected to discuss a proposal to build housing for senior citizens.
