LOCAL : Deputies Seize 45 Guns, Arrest 6

A Sheriff’s Department anti-gang unit investigating a series of killings and extortions seized 45 assault weapons and arrested six people today in the Firestone Park area.
Deputies with the Operation Safe Streets anti-gang squad investigating a series of drive-by shootings beginning last April made the arrests, Deputy Dean Scoville said. He said six gang members were arrested on charges of possessing illegal weapons--including AR-15, AK-47 and Tec-9 assault rifles--and that other charges may be added.
