Jim Traber, formerly with the Baltimore Orioles, will join the Kintetsu Buffaloes next season, the Japanese club announced today.

Traber, who batted .209 in 86 games last season, will open at first base next April for the Pacific League champions.

The Orioles gave Traber his unconditional release on Thursday. Traber, who turns 28 on Dec. 26, hit four home runs and had 26 RBI. He was signed by the Orioles after the June, 1982, free agent draft. He was picked in the 21st round.
