FULLERTON : Boy Killed in Car Accident Identified
A 10-year-old boy killed in a traffic accident was identified Friday as Ryan Daniel Dedrick. Police said he was riding in a car driven by Darwin Wearp, 18, of Placentia. Wearp’s 16-year-old sister was also a passenger.
The car went out of control and crashed Thursday night at the intersection of Rolling Hills Drive and Brea Boulevard, police said. Both Wearp and the girl, whose name was not released, were critically injured.
The car was traveling at 50 m.p.h. in a 35 m.p.h. zone when it hit a dip and flipped end-over-end. It struck a fire hydrant and a light pole and was cut in half.
