AST on the Move: A move by AST Research, the Irvine personal computer maker, to new corporate headquarters in the Irvine Spectrum is nearly complete.

AST is consolidating its administration, engineering, marketing, sales and research and development staffs, which are now scattered throughout seven leased facilities in Irvine, into the 225,000-square-foot facility. About 650 employees will work at the new headquarters.

In early November, the company moved its manufacturing operations from several facilities in Irvine to a new plant in Fountain Valley. The computer company plans to complete the move by Dec. 15.
