Lee Trevino says he feels no pressure to win in his debut on the Senior PGA Tour.

“I’d like to win, naturally,” he said. “But if I don’t play well here, it would do me more good than harm.

“If I don’t do well this week, I’ll be ready next February when the Senior Tour is in full swing.”

Trevino, who turned 50 Friday, will compete in the Kaanapali Classic on Maui this week, the final official event of the year.

“For the first time in a long time, I’ll be playing against people my own age,” he said.

Trevino said that after putting on some extra weight, he went on a diet three months ago and lost 20 pounds to get in shape for his first try among the seniors.
