Two California Breeders Stakes and two California Breeders Championships will be on the line Friday night at Los Alamitos, with the filly Lepton highlighting the 12-race program.

The California Breeders Championship for sophomore trotting colts and geldings will be decided in the second race. Moscato Beach and Thadrow, who battled to a nose decision in a Nov. 24 sires stakes, are early favorites.

A field of 12 will race in the $19,594 California Breeders Stakes for juvenile trotting colts and geldings, the fourth race, and will feature recent sires stakes victor Little Sur, the improved Here Comes Joe and the talented but erratic U Bu Go.

Another California Breeders champion will be crowned in the 12th race, a $32,840 event for sophomore pacing fillies. Gee Gee Gem will be looking for her seventh straight win while taking on a solid field of five, which includes recent winner Mount Hutt Sister and constant nemesis Magna Sable.

In the third race, Colross Racing Inc. and Michael Schwartz’s Lepton shoots for her seventh career win in a $22,564 California Breeders Stakes for juvenile pacing fillies. She will get a severe test from recent winner Cheryl Andy. March Victory appears the third best filly in the field.
